The Gustavus Department of Music proudly presents Kevin Kling ’79, composer Victor Zupanc, and the music group Zeitgeist, performing “For the Birds” at 2:30 p.m. on September 29 in Bjorling Recital Hall.
While at first glance the program appears to be about solely birds, the work also explores deeper levels of human nature and the innate desire continually strive for “more”. Kling and Zupanc co-wrote the piece in 2010 and have been touring with Zeitgeist to bring the performance to new audiences.
The event is part of the department’s colloquium series, which aims to develop the “art of listening” in Gustavus music majors through presentations and performances. The public is also encouraged to attend this free concert.
