Gustavus Wind Orchestra Welcomes Guest Conductor Timothy Mahr on SaturdayThe Gustavus Wind Orchestra, under interim conductor James Patrick Miller, welcomes guest conductor Timothy Mahr to Christ Chapel for its final 2009 performance on Saturday, May 2. The concert includes a premiere performance of This Dark World by junior David Mann, and soloists Hanna Schutte, xylophone and Abbie Johnson, piccolo. The concert begins at 3:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel and is open to the public at no charge.
Gustavus Choir Presents Home ConcertThe Gustavus Choir, the premier choral ensemble at Gustavus Adolphus College as well as one of the nation's premier Lutheran college choirs, will return from a nine-day, eight-concert tour on the West Coast to present its Home Concert in Christ Chapel, Friday, April 3. Christmas in Christ Chapel to be Broadcast and StreamedGustavus Adolphus College annual holiday celebration, Christmas in Christ Chapel, will be broadcast throughout the region and streamed on line during the coming Christmas season. "The Word Becomes Flesh," presented in Christ Chapel to sold-out audiences on November 30, December 1 and 2, will be broadcast by several radio stations in Minnesota and northern Iowa, as well as streamed by KMSU FM 89.7 on Christmas Eve.
