It is tradition at Gustavus Adolphus College for senior art and art history majors to have their work displayed at the College’s Hillstrom Museum of Art in the Spring. This winter, those seniors will also have the opportunity to show off some of their work in Waseca, Minn., a town 35 miles southeast of St. Peter.
The sounds of A Renaissance Nativity, the 2010 Christmas in Christ Chapel celebration at Gustavus Adolphus College, will be broadcast throughout the region during the holiday season. Radio stations which have aired portions or the entire service in past years are now planning to include the music in their broadcast schedules.

For more than forty years, Michael Johnson, singer, song-writer, storyteller, and guitarist, has delighted audiences at Gustavus Adolphus College. Michael returns to Björling Recital Hall, Friday, December 10, at 8:00 p.m. This performance on the Gustavus campus is the only performance the national recording artist will present in southern Minnesota this Christmas season.
Building on the success of last season's Physical Theatre Project, the Department of Theatre and Dance at Gustavus will present a Shakespeare Performance Showcase, directed by Amy Seham, in Anderson Theatre, December 9-11 at 8:00 p.m. and December 12 at 2:00 p.m. The Showcase uses Shakespeare's classic A Midsummer Night's Dream as a loose framework, and includes sonnets, monologues and scenes from many other works by the famed playwright. The evening culminates in a delightful rendition Dream's hilarious play within a play, Pyramus and Thisbe.
While parts of Southern Minnesota are under a winter storm warning and several inches of snow are expected to fall between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, all Christmas in Christ Chapel worship services are planned to occur as scheduled. Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3; at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4; and at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5.
The Winds of Christmas, an annual performance of the music of Christmas by the combined Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestras, will be presented at morning worship, 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 7, in Christ Chapel. Admission is free to this celebration of the music of Christmas directed by Douglas Nimmo.
The annual Christmas in Christ Chapel celebration at Gustavus Adolphus College will be held Dec. 3-5 and as is themed “A Renaissance Nativity.”
