Lecture by Acclaimed Green Architect Sarah Nettleton Tuesday

With funding from the Department of Art/Art History and the Johnson Endowment for the Arts, acclaimed "green" architect Sarah Nettleton will present a lecture in Wallenberg Auditorium, Tuesday, November 16 at 4:30 p.m. on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. As part of this day-long residency, one of Nettleton's creations, The Spear House on the Ottawa Road, will be open to the public to tour from 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. that same day. Buses will leave the Three Flags Circle every 30 minutes to take students and staff to the house for the tours.The house tour and the lecture are free and open to the public.

Rob Gardner Returns In A Walk In The Woods

Long-time Anderson Theatre director Rob Gardner returns to Gustavus in an Iowa Theatre Artists Company production of A Walk In The Woods on Friday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. This one-night-only performance includes Gardner as Soviet negotiator Andrev Botvinnik alongside movie and television actor Patrick Thomas O'Brien as the American agent John Honeyman. A Walk in the Woods general admission tickets are $10.00 and will be available at the door. Gustavus students and staff will be admitted at no charge with the funding from the Johnson Endowment.

Fall Percussion Concert Sunday at Gustavus

Under the direction of Professor Robert Adney, the Percussion Ensemble from the Department of Music at Gustavus will present its fall concert on Sunday, November 14. Gustavus Symphony in Concert Sunday

The Gustavus Department of Music is pleased to present the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and its new Conductor Ruth Lin in a concert of All-American music on Sunday, November 14 beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. This concert of works by American composers George Whitefield Chadwick, Aaron Copland and Alan Hovhaness is free and open to the public.

Nicole Wamma Junior Piano and Bass Recital Saturday

Mankato native Nicole Wamma will present her junior recital Saturday, November 13 at 3:30 p.m. on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. This recital includes performance on two instruments, piano and double bass, and will be presented in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. She is accompanied by pianist Beth Winterfeldt. The recital is free and open to the public.

XXI Gustavus Honor Band Festival Concert Monday

Under the direction of Douglas Nimmo, the twenty-first Gustavus Honor Band Festival will be hosted on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus, November 7 & 8. The two-day concert band festival includes rehearsals, clinics, master classes and demonstrations with Gustavus faculty.
