Gustavus Adolphus College this weekend, May 6-7, is celebrating the great achievements of all honors students with the Honors Weekend events. Among those events across the campus are the Senior Honors Recital which will take place in Bjorling Recital Hall on Saturday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m. and the Choral Showcase which will be held in Christ Chapel also on Saturday May 6, at 3:30 p.m. Both of these events are free and open to the public.
The Senior Honors Recital will feature our graduating honors music majors, each one giving a short performance. The performance includes six students this year each talented individually and within their ensembles. Joshua Mason, trombone, Stephanie Peterson, clarinet, Calvin Kong, piano, Preston Schleuter, baritone, Bailey Hilgren, oboe, and David Nelson, baritone will take the stage as this year’s senior honors performers.
The Choral Showcase will include all three large ensemble choirs Gustavus offers. The Gustavus Choir under the direction of Dr. Gregory Aune, the Choir of Christ Chapel and the Lucia Singers both under the direction of Brandon Dean will perform.
