Soprano Maria Jette Joins Gustavus’ Jorgensen and Wang for Music Season Premiere

Renowned Minneapolis soprano Maria Jette joins talents with Gustavus faculty Michael Jorgensen, baritone and pianist Esther Wang to present the music of Minnesota composer Celius Dougherty, Saturday, September 17. This performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus and is free and open to the public.

New Gustavus Cellist Presents Faculty Recital

Gustavus Adolphus College 'Cellist Adriana La Rosa Ransom will present a faculty recital on Sunday, September 18, in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. With Pianist Jason Alfred, Ms. Ransom's performance begins at 3:30 p.m. and marks her first appearance on the Björling stage since joining the Gustavus Department of Music this summer.

Sommarfest Concludes with Pianos and Winds

The 2005 Minnesota Valley Sommarfest concludes Thursday, July 28, with performances by two of the area's premier pianists, David Viscoli and John McKay, and Sommarfest's Wind Orchestra. The finale concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on July 28 in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus Campus.

Sommarfest Continues with Return of Artaria String Quartet

Minneapolis-based Artaria String Quartet returns to the Minnesota Valley Sommarfest stage on July 21 to team with guest violist Charles Gray in the performance of works by Mozart, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky. Minnesota Valley Sommarfest Celebrates the Music of Mozart

Minnesota Valley Sommarfest, southern Minnesota's oldest summer classical music series, opens July 7 in St. Peter with a celebration of the music of one of music's most beloved composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. for each Thursday evening in July in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College.
