Under the leadership of Ann Pesavento, the woodwind ensembles of the Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College will present their fall recital Sunday, November 16. This event includes performances by the Gustavus Chamber Players, Gustavus Flute Choir and the Gustavus Woodwind Choir. It begins at 3:30 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.
The Chamber Players open the concert with Charles Gounod’s Petite Symphonie and the Sinfonia from Solomon by Georg Frideric Handel. The Flute Choir then takes the stage and will perform a Russian folk song Oh, Little Apple and the four-movement A Gaelic Offering by Catherine McMichael. The performance concludes with the Woodwind Choir, under the direction of Ann Pesavento. The program includes Menuett by G. Bolzoni, Sarabande and Gigue by Arcangelo Corelli, William Hirsch’s Gavotte and ends with the Parade of the Leprechauns by Fred Kepner.
Sunday’s performance of woodwind chamber music begins at 3:30 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall. It is free and open to the public.
