Adolphus Jazz Concert Friday

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to announce the spring concert by the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Steve Wright. This performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on Friday, April 15 and is free and open to the public.

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to announce the spring concert by the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Steve Wright. This performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on Friday, April 15 and is free and open to the public.

For this performance, Director Wright has selected a number of jazz standards and newer compositions to showcase the variety of charts the Adolphus Jazz works on during the course of the year. The program includes works by jazz greats Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Rollins along with newer compositions by David Sanborn, Doug Beach and Carl Strommen. The band will premiere an original work by its pianist Noah Setterholm titled Column Blues.

Friday’s jazz performance by the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
