Guptil Senior Flute Recital Saturday

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to present the senior flute recital of Rachel Guptil of Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Rachel’s recital is part of a busy schedule of end-of-the-year recitals in the department and will be performed in Jussi Björling Recital Hall at 3:30 p.m on Saturday, April 30 with pianist and harpsichordist Brenda Moore. The recital is free and open to the public.

Rachel is a senior elementary education major and music minor studying with flutist Barbara Leibundguth. She will open the recital with ‘cellist Matt Klun in a performance of Bach’s Sonata in E major, BWV 1035, followed by Arthur Foote’s A Night Piece and the London Trio No 1 in C major by Franz Haydn, assisted by Eric Dronen, clarinet and Stephanie LaFayette, bassoon. The recital concludes with Cecile Chaminade’s Concertino, Op. 107 and, with the assistance of flutist Monica Klutzke, Andante et Rondo, Op. 25 by Albert Franz Doppler.

Saturday’s senior flute recital by Rachel Guptil is free and open to the public. It begins at 3:30 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall and will be followed by a reception for the musicians.
