J-Term Provides Long Days for Anderson Theatre Production

The more than 50 members of the cast and crew involved with the Department of Theatre & Dance January Term Theatre Production project are gaining a new understanding daily of the old saying "No rest for the wicked." For the students and staff working on the production (to be presented in Anderson Theatre, February 17 - 26) there is little rest. In the true spirit of the January Term tradition, the entourage is using the month-long opportunity to focus all of its energy on this one production.

Gustavus Symphony Preps for South Africa Concert Tour

The Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Ruth Lin open 2012 with a busy schedule of rehearsals, sectionals and classes as they prepares for a January 21 departure for The Republic of South Africa and the Symphony's first-ever concert tour on the African continent. While in South Africa from January 21 - February 2, the Symphony will present six public concerts in the areas surrounding Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Elling Earns 11th Grammy Nomination

Gustavus Adolphus College alumnus and Grammy winner Kurt Elling ‘89 received his 11th Grammy nomination on Nov. 30 when the 54th annual Grammy nominations were announced in Los Angeles. Elling is nominated in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category for his newest album The Gate. All nine of Elling’s albums and two of his singles have now received Grammy nominations.
