The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to present the senior voice recital by soprano Anna Morton, Sunday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. Ms. Morton will be accompanied by pianist Bonnie Jorgensen. Her recital is open to the public at no charge.
Anna Morton is a senior French and communications studies double major and music minor from Edina, Minnesota. She is a 2009 graduate of Edina High School and the daughter of Julie and Jeff Morton. In addition to her course work in her majors and music, at Gustavus Anna has studied voice with both Molly Clinefelter and Robin Helgen and is a member of the Gustavus Choir, under the direction of Conductor Gregory Aune.
For her recital, Anna has selected works ranging from Vivaldi’s Laudamus Te and Debussy’s Voice que le printemps to Jerry Bock’s Vanilla Ice Cream from the music She Loves Me and When You Believe by Stephen Schwartz. Her program includes works by Joaquin Rodrigo, Robert Schumann, Ernest Chausson, Benjamin Britten and John Henson Brooks.
Sunday’s senior voice recital by soprano Anna Morton will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. The recital is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception for the musicians in the lobby of the recital hall.
