The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College proudly presents Erik Blomquist in his senior piano recital. The recital, which is free and available for the public, will take place on Sunday, November 17, at 3:30 p.m. in Bjorling Recital Hall.
Erik is a senior from Onalaska, Wisconsin. Erik studies the piano with Professor Oshima-Ryan and is a Bjorling Music Scholar. On campus, he is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, the Gustavus Swimming and Diving Team, and the Christ Chapel Ringers. Erik is a chemistry major who is currently in the process of applying to dental schools for enrollment after graduation this spring.
Erik will begin his recital with a performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Etude-Tableaux in A Minor, Op. 39, No. 2.” This is followed by the second and third movements of “Drei Intermezzi, Op. 117,” by Johannes Brahms. Next, Erik will present all three movements of “Images, Book I,” a selection from Claude Debussy. The recital will conclude with another of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s works, titled “Prelude in G, Op. 32, No. 5.”
