The Winds of Christmas, an annual performance by the combined Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestras, will be presented at morning worship, 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 8, in Christ Chapel. Admission is free to this glorious celebration of the music of Christmas directed by Douglas Nimmo.
Following the busy weekend of Christmas in Christ Chapel that features 250 student musicians from the choirs and the symphony orchestra, the Winds of Christmas brings nearly 150 more musicians to the Chapel to share their talents and the music of Christmas.
Tuesday’s program opens with A Christmas Festival composed in 1950 by Leroy Anderson. John Higgins’ heart-warming Home for Christmas follows. Tuesday’s short performance concludes with Alfred Reed’s Russian Christmas Music.
The public of all ages is cordially welcomed to hear the Winds of Christmas in Christ Chapel with the Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestras, Tuesday, December 8, at 10:00 a.m.
