The Gustavus Department of Music is pleased to present the senior French Horn recital of Emily Hinz and Suzanne Mundhenke on Saturday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. This joint recital will take place in Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus Campus and is free and open to the public.
Emily Hinz is a senior psychological science major and music minor from Winona, Minnesota, who graduated from Winona Senior High School in 2009. She is the daughter of Gayle Gordon and Kurt Hinz. Emily studies the horn with Matt Wilson and is a Bjorling Music Scholar. She is also a member of the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and the Gustavus Wind Orchestra.
Suzanne Mundhenke is a senior chemistry major, with minors in music and religion who is pursuing a medical career. She graduated from Duluth (Minnesota) Central High School in 2009 and is the daughter of Sharla and Jeffrey Mundhenke. She is a member of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra, the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra, and the Christ Chapel Brass Quintet. Suzanne is a Bjorling Music Scholar and studies with Matt Wilson.
The recital will begin with Emily performing Concerto No. 4 in E flat Major, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Suzanne will follow with a performance of Robert Schumann’s Adagio und Allergro, Op. 70. Suzanne and Emily will perform the work by Georg Friedrich Handel and arranged by Lev Kogan, Concerto in F Major for Two Horns and Piano. The recital will conclude with Emily and Suzanne, assisted by with Sarah Cornell and Will Doebler, performing Concertino by A. Mithushin and edited by Christoper Leuba. Brenda Moore will be the accompanist for this recital.
