Ouradnik Junior Organ Recital Sunday

The Department of Music is pleased to present the junior organ recital of Tony Ouradnik in Christ Chapel on Sunday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. Tony is a junior music performance major from Bismarck, North Dakota and studies organ at Gustavus with Dr. Chad Winterfeldt. He will be assisted in this recital by organist Emily Rudquist. This recital in Christ Chapel is free and open to the public.

For his junior recital, Tony has selected works that span three centuries of composition for organ. The program includes two works by Johann Sebastian Bach: five movements from Orgelbüchlein, BWV 599-644 and the Toccata and Fugue in d minor, BWV 565. It includes Felix Mendelssohn’s Organ Sonata No. 2 in c minor, Op. 65 and two additional selections which complete Sunday’s organ recital. Those two works are the “Berceuse” from 24 Pièces en Style Libre, Op. 31 by Louis Vierne and two movements, “Venus, the Bringer of Peace” and “Neptune, the Mystic,” from Gustav Holst’s classic, The Planets, Op. 32.

Sunday’s junior recital by organist Tony Ouradnik will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The recital is free and open to the public.
