Moran Senior Piano Recital Set for Sunday

The Department of Music is pleased to announce the senior piano recital of Roseville native Aleksi Moran, Sunday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. The public is cordially invited to attend this recital.

Aleksi Moran is a senior athletic training major from Roseville, Minnesota. He is a Gustavus Music Award recipient and studies with Dr. Esther Wang. He has been a student accompanist for the past four years and has accompanied several student singers. Following graduation in June, Aleksi will continue on to graduate school at the University of Minnesota in pursuit of a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Aleksi will open his recital with the assistance of soprano Christina Swenson in a performance of the J.S. Bach/Charles Gounod’s Ave Maria and will continue with the Suite de danzas criollas, Op. 15 by Alberto Ginastera and the waltz movement from Ten Pieces for Piano, Op. 24 by Jean Sibelius. Moran will then present Johannes Brahms’ Waltz No. 3 in G-sharp minor, Op. 39 and Frederic Chopin’s Valse in D-flat Major, Op. 64, No. 1. He will conclude his senior recital with the third movement, “Claire de Lune,” of the Suite Bergamasque by Claude Debussy.

This senior piano recital by Aleksi Moran will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall. The recital is open to the public at no charge. A reception for Aleksi will follow the recital in the recital hall lobby.
