Pacific Palisades, California is the hometown of music performance major Olivia Reininger. On Saturday May 10 in Bjorling Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m., Olivia will take the stage to present her senior recital, performing works for voice and for solo piano. This performance is free for the public to attend and there will be refreshments following the concert.
Reininger’s repertoire will consist of two sections for piano and one section for voice. She will open the concert with piano with “Trio in F Major p. 42” by Niels W. Gade and will be joined by Dempsey Schroeder on violin and Helen Wauck on cello. After that she will perform one movement from Isaac Albéniz’s “Rumores de la Caleta” on piano. Then she will play “Concert Etude No.3,” composed by Franz Liszt. She will switch to voice for two pieces and accompanied by Esther Wang. “Vergebliches Ständchen” by Jonannes Brahms will be the first piece while Franz Schubert’s “Gretchen am Spinnrade” will be the second. From there Reininger will switch back to piano for “Valse Brilliante Op 33,” written by Theodora Cormontan and edited by Bonnie Jorgensen. To conclude up the concert, she will be joined by Shannon Graham to play two movements from “21 Hungarian Dances for Four Hands” by Johannes Brahms. Needless to say, her senior recital will be a wonderful demonstration of what she has learned during her time at Gustavus.
At 7:30 p.m. on May 10, Olivia Reininger will perform in Bjorling Recital Hall. Refreshments will be provided afterwards and the public can come to the recital for free.
