Gustavus Orchestra Set for Friday’s Concert in Christ Chapel

The Gustavus Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras will present their fall concert in a joint performance on Friday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. Conductor Warren Friesen leads the two student ensembles in this concert which is free and open to the public.

Renowned Minneapolis soprano Maria Jette joins talents with Gustavus faculty Michael Jorgensen, baritone and pianist Esther Wang to present the music of Minnesota composer Celius Dougherty, Saturday, September 17. This performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus and is free and open to the public.

Gustavus Adolphus College ‘Cellist Adriana La Rosa Ransom will present a faculty recital on Sunday, September 18, in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. Johanna Johnson, a senior at Gustavus Adolphus College, will perform her final recital on April 29 — accompanied by Joe Robinson, principal oboist for the New York Philharmonic. Johnson and Robinson have remained in close contact following their 1999 meeting through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
