KSTP Anchor John Mason to Narrate Nobel Concert Tuesday

John Mason, Anchor, KSTP-TV, will narrate the 2007 Nobel Conference Concert, Tuesday, October 2, beginning at 8:00 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The concert, matching the energy theme of the annual Nobel Conference, will feature a 1956 industrial cartoon titled "Energetically Yours" and funded by Standard Oil Company of New Jersey. Mason will narrate the film with music provided by the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and conductor Warren Friesen. The Gustavus Choir and two quartets will also participate.

Nobel Concert Expands on the Conference’s Medicine Theme

The annual Nobel Conference Concert takes this year's theme of "Medicine: Prescription for Tomorrow" and expands it to include musical references in history. The program includes the "Transformation" scene from the Jekyll and Hyde musical to tunes for patents medicines to a premiere of a symphonic score for the first horror film ever filmed, Thomas Edison's Frankenstein from 1910. This performance begins at 8:00 p.m. in Christ Chapel, Tuesday, October 3. The event is free and open to the pubic.
