Prichard & Burnside Open Recital Weekend Friday

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College hosts six student recitals this weekend in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. Opening the weekend on Friday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m., are juniors Sean Prichard, percussion & piano and Logan Burnside, alto & tenor saxophone. This recital is free and open to the public.

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College hosts six student recitals this weekend in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. Opening the weekend on Friday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m., are junior music education majors Sean Prichard, percussion & piano and Logan Burnside, alto & tenor saxophone. They are accompanied by pianist Beth Winterfeldt. This recital is free and open to the public.

Sean Prichard is a junior from Northfield, Minnesota, and a 2007 graduate of Northfield High School. For this recital he will present works on timpani, piano and marimba. Logan Burnside, also a junior, is a 2007 graduate of Shakopee High School. Logan will present works on alto and tenor saxophone. The final work on the program, The Elements, is a 5-movement work composed by Prichard & Burnside for this recital. The five movements includes the five elements of fire, water, air, aether and earth and will feature Burnside on alto and tenor saxophone and Prichard on marimba.

Friday’s recital begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
