Gustavus Theatre Connections Strong with St. Croix Festival Theatre

St. Croix Festival Theatre's 20th Anniversary Summer Season includes productions of Jean Anouilh's To Fool the Eye, Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard's Red, White and Tuna and concludes with the Pulitzer and Tony award-winning play Proof by David Auburn. Included in the casts are Shane Jensen '10, Christian DeMarais '11 and faculty emeritus Rob Gardner. Seham Returns to Fringe Festival with Premiere of FW: RE: Mom Update

Playwright Amy Seham, chair of the department and professor of theatre and dance at Gustavus Adolphus College, returns for the seventh time to Minnesota's Fringe Festival in August with her newest play, FW: RE: Mom Update. Directed by Diane Mountford and featuring a cast of Gustavus alumni, St. Peter and Minneapolis-based actors, Seham brings her humorous and insightful look at family dynamics, feminism and aging in America at the Playwright's Center in Minneapolis, August 5-13. Gustavus Alumni to Perform at Minnesota Fringe Festival

Four Gustavus Adolphus College alumni are preparing to perform in the production of Professor/Choreographer Jeffrey Peterson's Thinkingaview at this year’s Minnesota Fringe Festival Aug. 6-14.

Gustavus Theatre & Dance Season Announced

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to announce its 2010-2011 season, highlighting the influence of William Shakespeare with three Shakespeare inspired production, including Shakespeare’s R&J, a Shakespeare Performance Showcase and the season finale of Hamlet. The 2010-2011 dance season opens with a performance by the Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater Company and includes the student directed, choreographed, and performed Shared Space, the Gustavus Dance Company in Concert.

Klitzke ’10 Cast in Shakespeare & Co. 35th Season and Fringe Festival

Jordan Klitzke '10 didn't take a break after graduation and sit around wondering what life holds for him. Instead, the Eden Prairie native moved from graduation in May to rehearsals in June for productions of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream with Shakespeare and Company, followed by rehearsals for his Fringe Festival dance performances choreographed by Gustavus Adjunct Instructor in Dance Jeffrey Peterson at the Southern Theatre and, finally, on to an apprenticeship with the Minneapolis-based ARENA Dances and Choreographer Mathew Janczewski. At this point, Klitzke doesn't have time to sit around and think about his future. His future is happening now.
