Georgas Piano Recital Saturday Posted on March 7th, 2011 by

The Gustavus Adolphus College Department of Music is pleased to present a junior piano recital by Yanna Georgas on Saturday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. This performance is free and open to the public.

Yanna Georgas is a junior music major from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota and a 2008 graduate of St. Croix Lutheran High School.  She is a member of the Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra and has studied piano with Esther Wang and Yumiko Oshima-Ryan. In addition to her private study, she also teaches in the Piano Lab School and accompanies voice students.

For this recital, Ms. Georgas will open with the three-movement Piano Sonata K. 332 in F Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, followed by the Intermezzo from Faschingsschwank aus Wien Opus 26 by Robert Schumann. Yanna concludes Saturday’s recital with two works by American composer George Gershwin,  ‘S Wonderful and Clap Yo’ Hands.

Yanna Georgas’ piano recital begins at 7:30 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall on Saturday, March 12. The recital is free and open to the public.
