Elizabeth Hauer, euphonium and Camille Jarvis, saxophone will present a junior recital in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, December 10, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Both instrumentalists will be accompanied by pianist Beth Winterfeldt. The performance is free and open to the public.
Saturday’s recital includes works written for solo euphonium and saxophone as well as a number of standards arranged for the two instruments. The program opens with Aria, a saxophone solo by Eugene Bozza and Fantasia for Euphonium and Band by Gordon Jacob. The program continues with works by Benjamin Britten, Ralph Vaughan Williams and David Bennett before concluding with Herbert L. Clarke’s From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific.
Elizabeth Hauer, euphonium, is a junior music education major from Little Falls. She is a member of the Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestras, Gustavus Jazz Lab Band, Tuba-Euphonium ensemble, holds a Bjorling scholarship and studies with Instructor Paul Budde.
Camille Jarvis, saxophone, is a junior music major from Cottage Grove. She is a member of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra, Gustavus Saxophone Quartet, and Handbell Choir. She studies with John Engebretson.
Saturday’s recital in Jussi Björling Recital Hall begins at 3:30 p.m. A reception for the performers will follow the recital. The performance is free and open to the public.
