Piano duettists Helen and Paul Baumgartner will present a recital Sunday, November 22, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. This performance celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Felix Mendelssohn. It is free and open to the public.

David Mann, senior music major with honors in theory/composition, will present his senior recital Saturday, November 14, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. He is assisted by Beth Winterfeldt, piano, the Gustavus Saxophone Quartet and Bethany Mann, trombone.

The Gustavus Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Gregory Aune, will feature Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5, the “Reformation” Symphony, on Sunday, November 8, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

Organist Timothy Buendorf, Gustavus class of 1988, returns to Christ Chapel on Friday, October 30 for for a recital that begins at 7:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.

Pianist Yumiko Oshima-Ryan, associate professor of music at Gustavus Adolphus College, presents a solo recital of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Goldberg Variations,” Sunday, October 18, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. This performance is free and open to the public.

St. Peter musicians Michael and Bonnie Jorgensen will present a recital of voice and piano Sunday, October 4, to celebrate the release of their new recording on compact disc, ALL THE OLD, FAMILIAR PLACES. Sunday’s concert begins at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall.

The recital includes performances by Brian Buckstead, violin, Emily Sapa, flute, Barbara Leibundguth, flute, John Engebretson, alto saxophone, Esther Wang, piano and Beth Winterfeldt, piano.
