Fringe Festival Features Gustavus Theatre in "A Mother for Choco"

This year's Minnesota Fringe Festival will feature the work of hundreds of Gustavus Theatre & Dance students, alumni and faculty. This year is no exception with a special story focusing on the challenges of adoption in Keiko Kasza's "A Mother for Choco (& other Mother Stories)," a Kid's Fringe piece developed by Amy Seham and Anne Sawyer-Aitch, in collaboration with a cast of student performers.

The Rhythm of Dance and the Visual Arts

The adage of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" will be put to the test on April 5 and 7 at the Hillstrom Museum of Art at Gustavus as student choreographers and dancers from the Department of Theatre/Dance perform a visual analysis of works currently on display in the Museum. These performances are open to the public and begin at 3:30 p.m. on April 5 and 5:30 p.m., April 7.

Gustavus Theatre Presents Festival of Student Work

The Department of Theatre & Dance at Gustavus Adolphus College presents a Festival of Student Work November 15 - 18. A miniature fringe festival in its own right, this collaboration of more than sixty actors, dancers, designers, and technicians, operating on ten different production schedules, will fill Anderson Theatre and the Schaefer Fine Arts Center for four days of artistic celebration.

Gustavus Presents Spring Dance Concert

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to announce the 2006 spring concert of the Gustavus Dance Company (GDC), entitled Pushing the Limits. This annual event includes works choreographed and performed by its dance faculty and students, and guest artists Megan Flood, Mathew Janczewski, and Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner. Performances will be held on campus in Anderson Theatre on March 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. and March 19 at 2 p.m.
