Gustavus Symphony Presents Concert of American Music
The Gustavus Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Warren Friesen, will present a concert of works by American composers Samuel Barber, Victor Herbert and the team of Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones on Sunday, November 9, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus.
Artaria String Quartet Returns to Gustavus
Minneapolis-based Artaria String Quartet returns to Gustavus Adolphus College on September 28 and reunites with Gustavus pianist Yumiko Oshima-Ryan for a concert including works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Dmitri Shostakovich. Sunday's event begins at 3:00 p.m. with a pre-concert lecture. The concert follows in Bjorling Recital Hall at 3:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Gustavus Symphony Presents China Tour Concert Sunday in Christ Chapel
The Gustavus Adolphus College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Warren Friesen with violin soloist Brian Buckstead, will present a Home Concert performance to conclude its 15-day international concert tour in the People's Republic of China. The Home Concert will be presented in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus campus on Sunday, February 17, beginning at 1:30 p.m. This performance is free and open to the public.
