WEEKEND FEATURES WOODWINDS AND MORE Posted on November 9th, 2004 by

The Gustavus Music Department features the Flute Choir and three quartets, under the direction of Dr. Ann Pesavento and present their fall concert Sunday, November 14, beginning at 1:30 in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall.

Ann Pesavento leads these ensembles through their fall classic and opens the concert with the Flute Choir, presenting works by Telemann, Bach and Zempleni. Following a short pause, the RRJL Saxophone Quartet takes the stage to perform Arthur Franckenpohl’s FANFARE, AIR AND FINALE, written in 1972.

The Clarinet Quartet then follows with performance of Bach’s FUGUE IN G MINOR. Following this performance, the HJBA Saxophone Quartet continues with Rivier’s GRAVE ET PRESTO and ends the concert with an arrangement of Duke Ellington’s great hit, IT DON’T MEAN A THING.

This performance is free and open to the public.
