Trombonist Scott Moore Presents Faculty Recital at Gustavus Posted on February 8th, 2005 by

Gustavus Assistant Professor of Music Scott Moore will present a Faculty Trombone Recital accompanied by Brenda Peterson Moore on Sunday, February 13 at 1:30 p.m. in Bjorling Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.

Mr. Moore, a frequent performer with the Minnesota Orchestra and director of the low brass area of the Department of Music at Gustavus, will present three works on this recital. He opens the program with ZWEI FANTASIESTUCKE by Eduard Lassen and continues with Arthur Frankenpohl’s SUITE FOR UNACCOMPANIED BASS TROMBONE. He will conclude the recital with a performance of Eric Ewazen’s three movement RHAPSODY FOR BASS TROMBONE.

For this recital, Mr. Moore is accompanied by his wife, pianist Brenda Peterson Moore. Ms. Moore regularly accompanies her husband in recital as well as students in the department. She serves the college as its vice president for institutional advancement.

Sunday’s recital begins at 1:30 p.m. in Bjorling Recital Hall and will be followed by a reception for the performers. The recital is free and open to the public.
