Senior Trumpet and Piano Recitals this Weekend

Two senior recitals set the stage for music at Gustavus this weekend as Erik Mahon, trumpet and Susan Engberg, piano present solo recitals in Björling Recital Hall. Mahon, a native of Littleton, Colorado, is accompanied by pianist Beth Winterfeldt at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 14. Engberg follows at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. Both performances are free and open to the public.

Spanish Song Recital Set for Friday

The Departments of Music and Modern Foreign Languages collaborate this Friday, April 18, to present a recital of Spanish Songs in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall. This recital by soprano Ana Adams (assistant professor of Spanish) and pianist Esther Wang (assistant professor of music) is open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m.

Gustavus Features Faculty Trio Recital Friday

Gustavus Adolphus College faculty members Yumiko Oshima-Ryan, piano, Brian Buckstead, violin and guest 'cellist Joseph Rodgers will be in concert at Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall, Friday, March 7, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Works by Beethoven, Ravel and Shostakovich will be presented in this performance which is free and open to the public.

Mankato area violinist Mark Wamma will present his junior recital on Sunday, March 2, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Gustavus Adolphus College's Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall. Baumgartners to Present Piano Duet at Gustavus

Paul and Helen Baumgartner, faculty emeriti of the Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College, will present a piano four-hand recital in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall, Friday, February 29. The Baumgartner recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Engebretson to Present Faculty Saxophone Recital

Faculty member John Engebretson will present a saxophone recital in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus, Friday, November 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Assisting in this recital are pianist Esther Wang, guitarist Jim McGuire, bassist Rick Orpen and Andrew Haaheim on drums. Pianist Alex Zupan to Present Senior Recital

Alex Zupan, senior honors mathematics and honors music major, will present his senior piano recital on Sunday, May 6, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustauvs Adolphus College campus. Following a program which includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Ravel, a reception will be held in Mr. Zupan's honor in the recital hall lobby.

Vocalists Present Recitals Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus College Department of Music will present three vocal recitals on Saturday, April 28, in the college's Jussi Björling Recital Hall. The three recitals at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. are free and open to the public.
