University Brass Choir Performs at Gustavus Posted on March 7th, 2005 by

The University of Minnesota Brass Choir, under the direction of David Baldwin, will present an evening of brass at Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus, Thursday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.

For this special performance at Christ Chapel, Professor Baldwin has selected a number of works for brass choir which span four centuries and showcase the varied literature written for brass ensembles. Many of the works were written for performance is large cathedrals whose acoustics match those of the Chapel. The eighteen member brass choir, under the direction of long-time Professor of Music at the University David Baldwin, will performs works from Gabrielli to Faure, Copland, Gregson and others.

Thursday’s performance is open to the public at no charge and will be followed by a reception in the narthex of the Chapel.
