Krusemark and Leger to Present Trumpet Recital Posted on March 7th, 2005 by

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College presents seniors Carmen Leger and Brady Krusemark in a senior trumpet recital on Sunday, March 13. They will be accompanied by pianist Megan Strom and assisted by members of the Christ Chapel Brass Quintet. This recital begins at 1:30 p.m. in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.

Carmen Leger is a senior music education major from Ortonville, Minnesota. She is the daughter of Doug and Dawn Leger and a 2001 graduate of Ortonville High School. In addition to her work preparing to enter music education following graduation from Gustavus, Leger is a member of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra, the Gustavus Jazz Lab Band and the Christ Chapel Brass. For this recital she will be presenting ANDANTE AND ALLEGRO by Guillaume Balay, SONATA FOR TRUMPET by Archangelo Corelli and RONDO FOR LIFEY by Leonard Bernstein. With Mr. Krusemark and the members of the Christ Chapel Brass, Carmen will perform an arrangement for brass of WHEN I AM SIXTY-FOUR written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Brady Krusemark is a senior music education major at Gustavus and a 2001 graduate of Mankato West High School. He is the son of Don and Beth Krusemark of Mankato and will be student teaching at Edina High School following graduation from Gustavus in May. Brady is the trumpet section leader of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra, and a member of the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra, the Gustavus Jazz Lab Band and the Christ Chapel Brass. For this recital, he will be presenting the CONCERTO IN E-FLAT MAJOR by Johann Hummel, SONATA FOR TRUMPET AND PIANO by Kent Kennan, ESPANA by Emmanual Chabrier and finishing the concert with the Christ Chapel Brass performance of WHEN I AM SIXTY-FOUR.

The Krusemark and Leger Senior Recital is free and open to the public. A reception for the performers will follow the recital in the recital hall lobby.
