Gustavus Premieres Beautiful Savior Commission

On Friday, November 18, the Gustavus Wind Orchestra from Gustavus Adolphus College will premiere a newly written work, commissioned by the College and based on the hymn tune, Beautiful Savior. The new work, Light of My Soul, was written by David Gillingham and commissioned for the ensembles' 2006 Eastern European Concert Tour. Friday's concert in Christ Chapel begins at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Gustavus Department of Music Presents a Weekend of Recitals

The Gustavus Adolphus College presents a weekend of student recitals as the end of the semester draws near. Four separate recitals are scheduled for Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20 in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. The programs include performances by Ana Sietsema, Glade Sietsema, Briana Monson, Dorea Ruggles, Erika Galazen, Charlote Seibel and Seyward Mattson.

Gustavus Department of Music Presents a Day of Music

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College presents a day of music, Sunday, November 13, as guest artists, student recitalists and ensembles fill Bjorling Recital Hall with music. Performances are scheduled for 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. All performances are free and open to the public.

Gustavus Dumke and Michelson to Present Student Voice Recital

Senior soprano Kirsten Dumke and junior tenor Travis Michelson will present a combined voice recital on Saturday, November 5, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

Gustavus Orchestra Set for Friday’s Concert in Christ Chapel

The Gustavus Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras will present their fall concert in a joint performance on Friday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. Conductor Warren Friesen leads the two student ensembles in this concert which is free and open to the public.
