Woodwind Ensembles to Perform Sunday at Gustavus Posted on November 6th, 2006 by

Two Gustavus woodwind ensembles, the Gustavus Flute Choir and the Gustavus Woodwind Choir, will present their combined fall concert Sunday, November 12, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. This concert, conducted by professor of music Ann Pesavento, if free and open to the public.

The flute choir opens with works by Neubaur and Weis, Canon in D by Pachelbel, Pierre Max Dubois’ Quatuor and ends with a traditional Irish jig arranged by Kibbe.

The Woodwind Choir is a mixed ensemble of flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet, contra-bass clarinet and saxophone. It completes Sunday’s performance with works by Vaughan Williams, Jarnefelt, Alfred Reed, Barthe and Frackenpohl.

This performance by the Gustavus Flute Choir and Woodwind Choir is free and open to the public.
