40 Years and Michael Johnson in Concert

Michael Johnson, the singer, song-writer, storyteller, and guitarist who has delighted audiences at Gustavus Adolphus College annually for forty years, returns to Björling Recital Hall for a 40th Anniversary Concert Celebration, Friday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m. This performance on the Gustavus campus is one of only two performances the national recording artist will present in Minnesota this season.

Fall Jazz Concert at Gustavus Saturday

The jazz ensembles from the Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College combine efforts on Saturday, November 22, to present a concert in Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. Under the direction of guest director Adam Rossmiller, the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble and the Gustavus Jazz Lab Band begin this free concert at 7:30 p.m.

Gustavus Percussion in Concert Sunday

The Gustavus Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Paul Hill, will presents its fall concert on Sunday, November 23, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The performance, held in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall, is free and open to the public.

Gustavus St. Ansgar’s Men’s Chorus in Concert Sunday

Director Gregory Aune and the St. Ansgar's Men's Chorus present their fall concert Sunday, November 23 at 3:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. Sunday's concert is free and open to the public.

Gustavus Chamber Singers Vocal Jazz Performance Saturday

The Gustavus Chamber Singers will present a vocal jazz concert in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus in St. Peter on Saturday, November 22 at 3:30 p.m. This performance is under the direction of Gregory Aune and is free and open to the public.

Buckstead Leads Philharmonic Concert at Gustavus

Brian Buckstead, conductor of the Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra, will lead the ensemble in its annual fall concert in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on Friday, November 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission to this Department of Music presentation is free and open to the public.

Recent Works by John Gaunt Opens in Schaefer Gallery

The Department of Art/Art History at Gustavus will open an exhibition of recent works by Gustavus alumnus John Gaunt on November 21 with a gallery talk at 3:30 p.m. in Schaefer Gallery. Mr. Gaunt will present his talk prior to the opening reception at 4:30 p.m. The exhibition runs through December 13 in the Schaefer Gallery located in the Fine Arts Center.

Gustavus Woodwind Ensemble in Concert Sunday

Under the leadership of Ann Pesavento, the woodwind ensembles of the Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College will present their fall recital Sunday, November 16. The event includes performances by the Gustavus Chamber Players, Gustavus Flute Choir and the Gustavus Woodwind Choir. It begins at 3:30 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.

Gustavus Winds Perform in Christ Chapel Friday

The Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestras present their fall concert Friday, November 14 in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. The 7:30 p.m. performance of the wind orchestras, conducted by Douglas Nimmo, is free and open to the public.

Pianist Laura Lundorff Senior Recital Sunday

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to present the senior piano recital of Laura Lundorff on Sunday, November 16. Lundorff, a student of Yumiko Oshima-Ryan, will begin her recital in Jussi Björling Recital Hall at 1:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
