Winterfeldt Faculty Piano Recital

Well-known St. Peter pianist, teacher and accompanist, Beth Winterfeldt, will present a faculty piano recital in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. For this performance, Ms. Winterfeldt has invited Mankato-area pianist David Viscoli and Gustavus violist Justin Knoepfel to assist. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

To open the recital, Beth will perform American Berserk, a solo work for piano composed by American composer John Adams. David Viscoli then joins Beth on the stage to present Adams’ Hallelujah Junction (written for two pianos). The program continues with guest violist Justin Knoepfel and pianist Beth Wintefeldt performing Gabriela Lena Frank’s Cinco Danzas de Chambi; for viola and piano. Winterfeldt will conclude her faculty recital with Franks’ Sonata Andina for Piano.

Beth Winterfeldt is a member of the piano faculty at Gustavus, teaching classes and studio lessons as well as coordinating the accompanist program. Guest pianist David Viscoli is Professor of Piano at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Justin Knoepfel is Visiting Instructor in Violin and Viola at Gustavus and conducts the Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra.

Friday’s faculty recital by Pianist Beth Winterfeldt with guest artists David Viscoli and Justin Knoepfel is free and open to the public. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall.
