Brian Evans ’07, a member of the Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theatre Company and winner of Minnesota’s SAGE award in 2010, was featured in the September 2011 edition of Minnesota Monthly. The article “Lights, Camera, Fashion” was a photo montage of dance and current fashion. Evans was selected along with members of the Zenon Dance Company and Minnesota Dance Theatre to model new fall fashion in motion.

Brian Evans, Raina Gilland and Mary Ann Bradley, all dancers who will appear in the inaugural season of the new Cowles Center for the Arts in Minneapolis, are caught in the glare of style and color and movement at the Ritz Theatre. Or, as the article states, “Fall’s fashion takes a cue from the stage, with the spotlight on high drama and graceful movement.”

Designers, whose work appears in the spread, range in price and accessibility from Ragstock to Neimann Marcus to Missoni. Faint of fashion readers who see the collection and think that only professional dancers can model clothes and look this good may be right. However, with the $1725  Neiman Marcus Etro blazer worn by Evans in the article’s lead photo, anyone can look good.

Brian Evans and the Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theatre are scheduled to perform at the Cowles Theatre in Minneapolis, March 9-11, 2012. Tickets are available online at thecowlescenter.org or by calling 612-206-3600.

The Etro blazer will not be a part of Mr. Evans’ wardrobe for the performance.
