The Rococo Duo, known for performances infused with physical and emotional energy, will appear in concert at Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday, September 21, at 8:00 p.m. The performance by flutist Jenny Hanson and percussionist Scotty Horey will be given in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Hanson and Horey are performers with educations in classical musical training and a love of folk and popular music as well as rock and roll. Their performances typically include a varied program. And, as already written, they love to energize their programs without sacrificing attention to the subtleties of phrasing and sound.

For Wednesday’s concert, the Duo will open with Astor Piazzolla’s Histoire du Tango, followed by Mark Engebretson’s Two Duos — Whac-a-Mole and Floam. The next work on the program is a composition by Brett Wartchow which was dedicated to the Rococo Duo, titled Anemone. The Duo will conclude the performance with Piedra en la Piedra by Ricardo Lorenz.

This performance by the Rococo Duo on Wednesday, September 21, will begin at 8:00 p.m. in Björling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. It is open to the public at no charge.
