The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to present the senior violin recital by Zicheng (Martin) He, Saturday, March 24, at 1:30 p.m., in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. Martin, a senior from Shunde, China, will be accompanied by pianist Beth Winterfeldt and assisted by violist Justin Knoepfel. This recital is open to the public. Admission is free.

For his senior recital, Zicheng He has selected works for violin by Fritz Kreisler (Praeludium and Allegro in the style of Pugani), Andrew Lloyd Webber (All I Ask of You) and Zili Li (Fisherman’s Song for Harvest). He will conclude the recital with the three-movement F-A-E Sonata in which each movement is written by a different composer: Albert Dietrich, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.

Zicheng (Martin) He is a senior public accounting major with statistics and music minors from Shunde, China. He is a member of the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and recently returned with the symphony from its first concert tour in South Africa. Martin started to learn violin when he was six and earned Level Ten Certification of Amateur Violin Performing before his high school graduation. He currently studies violin with Professor Justin Knoepfel.

Martin He’s senior violin recital with pianist Beth Wingterfeldt and violist Justin Knoepfel begins at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. The recital will be presented in Björling Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.
