The Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra, Justin Knoepfel, conductor

The Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Justin Knoepfel, will present their spring concert, The Music of Our Youth, Sunday, March 24, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus campus. This performance is free and open to the public.

For this performance, Dr. Knoepfel has selected four works which span two centuries of music for chamber orchestra. The performance will open with two movements from Felix Mendelssohn’s Sinfonia No. 8 in D Major, followed by George Gershwin’s Lullaby for String Orchestra, arranged by Ira Gershwin. The concert concludes with two works by another American composer, Leroy Anderson, Fiddle-Faddle and Plink! Plank! Plunk!.

Sunday’s performance of The Music of Our Youth by the Gustavus Philharmonic Orchestra begins at 1:30 p.m. in Bjorling Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.
