Junior Viola Recital by Dempsey Schroeder Saturday Posted on May 14th, 2013 by

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College presents junior violist Dempsey Schroeder in recital on Saturday, May 18, accompanied by pianist Ben Marti. The recital will be presented in Björling Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

Dempsey is a junior music major from Pennock, Minn. He studies the viola with Dr. Justin Knoepfel. Dempsey is a Björling scholar and is a member of the Gustavus Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras.

The recital will begin with Arvo Part’s Spiegel im Spiegel. This will be followed by Elegy, a work by Benjamin Britten. The first movement of Frank Bridges’s 2 Pieces will be performed next. The recital will conclude with Suite No.3 in C major, BWV 1009 by J.S. Bach.

Dempsey Shroeder’s junior viola recital will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on May 18 in Björling Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.
