Flutist Tim Lane has been on the faculty at Eau Claire since 1989. With degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Illinois, Dr. Lane has played with the Orquestra Sinfonica de Veracruz, Mexico, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Ohio Chamber Orchestra, and has taught at Eastern Illinois University, the Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory Department, and at the Interlochen Arts Camp. For their guest recital at Gustavus, the duo has selected an all-French program. The recital will open with Camille Saint-Saëns’ Odolette, Op. 162, and Maurice Ravel’s Sonate Posthume. It continues with the Morceau de Concours by Gabriel Fauré and the La Merle Noir by Olivier Messiaen. The three-movement Sonatine by Darius Milhaud will conclude the program.

Friday’s guest recital by flutist Tim Lane and pianist Namji Kim will begin at Björling Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. The recital is free and open to the public.
