Gustavus Brings the Tragedy of columbinus to Anderson Theatre

With an eye to history as well as more recent events at Virginia Tech and in our own region, the Gustavus Adolphus College Department of Theatre and Dance will present columbinus in Anderson Theatre, October 25 - 28. Written by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli, and directed by Assistant Professor Theatre and Dance Henry MacCarthy, columbinus is based on the events leading up to, and including, the tragedy at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999.

Winterfeldt to Present Organ Recital at Christ Chapel

Chad Winterfeldt, Director of Music at First Lutheran Church, St. Peter and Associate Organist at Christ Chapel, will present a faculty organ recital in Christ Chapel on Saturday, September 22. The performance is free and open to the public and begins at 3:30 p.m.

Gustavus Names Owatonna Native Andrew Jensen as Presser Scholar

The Music Department at Gustavus Adolphus College has named 2004 Owatonna High Shool graduate Andrew Jensen as the 2007 - 2008 recipient of the Presser Scholarship. This award, presented annually, is presented to a senior in the department and is based on musicianship, scholarship and contribution to the department.

Gustavus Theatre Anniversary Season Opens Thursday with Stephenson’s An Experiment With An Air Pump

An Experiment With An Air Pump, Shelagh Stevenson's play written as the world prepared to enter the 21st century, opens the 75th anniversary season of theatre at Gustavus, November 9 - 12, in Anderson Theatre. Directed by Rob Gardner, An Experiment With An Air Pump confronts essential, moral questions in the development of understanding of the human race in situations which, although similar, are separated by 200 years.

Gustavus Brings Tonic Sol-fa’s Sound to Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall

One of the Midwest's most sought-after a capella vocal groups, Tonic Sol-fa, appears in concert at Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus in St. Peter on Saturday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. This performance is part of the Gustavus Artist Series. Tickets are available by calling the Gustavus Ticket Center at 507-933-7590. Tickets not reserved before Saturday will be on sale in the recital hall lobby one hour prior to showtime.

Gustavus Department of Music Presents Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to announce the fall concert of the Gustavus Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, Sunday, November 5.
