Joint Wind Concert Set for Saturday

The Gustavus Wind Symphony and Gustavus Wind Orchestra will present a joint concert on Saturday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. in Bjorling Recital Hall.

Gustavus Wind Orchestra Welcomes Guest Conductor Timothy Mahr on Saturday

The Gustavus Wind Orchestra, under interim conductor James Patrick Miller, welcomes guest conductor Timothy Mahr to Christ Chapel for its final 2009 performance on Saturday, May 2. The concert includes a premiere performance of This Dark World by junior David Mann, and soloists Hanna Schutte, xylophone and Abbie Johnson, piccolo. The concert begins at 3:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel and is open to the public at no charge.

Gustavus Wind Orchestra Presents Season Finale at Christ Chapel

The Gustavus Wind Orchestra and Conductor Douglas Nimmo will present the Gustavus Adolphus College Department of Music's Season Finale on Saturday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m. The finale concert, scheduled as part of the College's annual Commencement festivities is free and open to the public and will be performed in Christ Chapel.

Gustavus Department of Music Presents Music Showcase at Orchestra Hall

The three international touring ensembles at Gustavus Adolphus College will present the 2008 Gustavus Music Showcase at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. Performances by the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and conductor Warren Friesen, the Gustavus Wind Orchestra and conductor Douglas Nimmo and the Gustavus Choir with guest conductor Robert Scholz will feature works from a recent tour to China by the Symphony and spring concert tours by the Wind Orchestra and Choir.

Gustavus Wind Orchestras Perform Friday

The Gustavus and Vasa Wind Orchestras will appear in concert, conducted by Douglas Nimmo, Friday, November 16 in Christ Chapel on the Gustavus campus. This joint concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
