The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College will feature the work of six student ensembles in three concerts on Sunday, April 29. The day of music includes the Flute Choir, Woodwind Ensembles, the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble, Chambers Singers, St. Ansgar’s Chorus and the Birgitta Singers. All three performances are free and open to the public.
Sunday’s performance schedule opens at 1:30 p.m. with the Flute Choir and various woodwind ensembles, under the direction of Ann Pesavento, in Jussi Björling Recital Hall. At 3:30 p.m., the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble, directed by Steve Wright and the Gustavus Chamber Singers, directed by Gregory Aune, will present an afternoon of instrumental and vocal jazz, both as separate ensembles and in a combined effort which concludes the concert in the recital hall. At 7:30 p.m., the St. Ansgar’s Mens Chorus and the Birgitta Singers (women) will present their spring concert in Christ Chapel, under the direction of Gregory Aune and Travis Sletta.
All three performances are free and open to the public.
