Adolphus Jazz Concert Features Jazz Quartet Friday

The Adolphus Jazz Ensemble of the Department of Music at Gustavus features the A Jazz Quartet in it spring concert Friday, May 2. The concert, directed by Steve Wright, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall. It is free and open to the public.

The Adolphus Jazz Ensemble of the Department of Music at Gustavus features the A Jazz Quartet in it spring concert Friday, May 2. The concert, directed by Steve Wright, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall. It is free and open to the public.

The Adolphus Jazz Ensemble, one of two jazz ensembles directed by Steve Wright on the Gustavus campus, will present a program demonstrating the variety of music written for jazz ensemble. The program includes Sammy Nestico’s Lisette, Heyman & Green’s Out of Nowhere, Matt Harris’ Zsa Zsa Queen and Mark Taylor’s Turnaround, among others. The Adolphus Jazz Quartet will perform Four, by the legendary Miles Davis, Ceora by Lee Morgan and conclude with Mr. PC by John Coltrane.

Friday’s performance in Bjorling Recital Hall begins at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
