Classical String and Piano Trio to Present Recital at Gustavus

The trio of Nina Tso-Ning Fan, violin, David Carter, ‘cello and Esther Wang, piano, will present a recital of the music of Beethoven, Faure and Tchaikovsky in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus, Sunday, October 29, beginning at 1:30 p.m. This performance is free and open to the public.

The trio of guest artists Nina Tso-Ning Fan, violin and David Carter, ‘cello, join with Gustavus pianist Esther Wang, for a recital on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus Sunday, October 29. This guest artist trio begins at 1:30 p.m. in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall and includes the music of Beethoven, Faure and Tchaikovsky. This performance is free and open to the public.

Guest artists Fan, a member of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra since 1997, and David Carter, professor of music at St. Olaf College, join with Gustavus associate professor of music Esther Wang, for this special performance in Bjorling Recital Hall. Carter and Wang open with Beethoven’s Sonata in G minor for ‘Cello and Piano, Op. 5, No. 2, followed by the Sonata in D minor for ‘Cello and Piano, Op. 109 by French composer Gabriel Faure. Following a brief intermission, Nina Tso-Ning Fan completes the trio for the final work on the program, Russian composer Peter Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A minor for Violin, ‘Cello and Piano, Op. 50.

Sunday’s recital is free and open to the public.
