Gustavus Presents First Annual OcTUBAfest Posted on October 29th, 2008 by

The Department of Music at Gustavus Adolphus College will present the first, of what it hopes will become an annual event, OcTUBAfest in Jussi Björling Recital Hall on Saturday, November 1, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Paul Budde, instructor of euphonium and tuba at the college, will direct this celebration of music for euphonium and tuba. The event is free and open to the public.

The program for the first annual OcTUBAfest at Gustavus will feature performances by seven students and includes works by Arthur Pryor, Franz Joseph Haydn, Walter Hartley, James Curnow, Alec Wilder and a set of traditional songs from the British Isles arranged by David Werden. Pianist Brenda Moore will accompany the performers.

Saturday’s OcTUBAfest at Gustavus is free and open to the public. It begins at 7:00 p.m. in Jussi Björling Recital Hall.
